painting fall decorations

The kids were painting fall leaves for the windows, and it turned into painting with almost their whole body. By the time we were done Savannah and Avery had a painted belly. Avery saw that Savannah had attempted to use her foot, and I caught him just in time before his attempt. Needless to say they went straight to the bath.

after the children were done painting, I took and cut out the barley visible lines of the leaves and hung them on the windows.

Camping Trip!

Our new family show is "Man VS Wild" It is a survival type show, with a man that does some INCREDIBLE survival techniques. Anyway, Avery found this grub in a log and wanted to eat it because that is what the "forest" guy does! He wouldn't put this grub down until finally we MADE him throw it in the bushes. He truely wanted to eat it!

Beautiful Savannah smiling for the camera!

This was a picture of the beach that was on the edge of our campsite.

Uncle Jon came with us, and he, Aaron and Avery slept in the tent closest to the truck, while the girls tent was named the "Princess" tent because of my blow up mattress and Savannah's pack n play. (her and I really did the luxury camping thing)

I found her just picken and playing with the tent cords. CUTE!

This was the edge of our campsite, beautiful beach and some "climbing" rocks.

Savannah smearing some sea foam on her face like a mustache (much like we do in the bath, but with different bubbles) :)
Avery was trying to find some hermit crabs.

This was at our friends campsite. They had it set up AMAZINGLY, with a kiddy pool, hammock and kayaks.

We went on an Alligator hike. We were literally hiking through marsh like areas and had to hold the children's hands because of the natural habitat we were in.

ALLIGATOR!

Uncle Jonathan being silly!

Catching you up on our vacation!

To begin with we went to see Aaron's family for his grandma's 80th SURPRISE birthday party! It was fantastic! I wish I had enough patience to upload the whole video of her coming in and being so surprised, we were glad we had a doctor in the house! LOL! It was so much fun catching up with everyone, except Jason we missed you! I could not believe that almost everyone was packed into Mom and Dad's home! They graciously hosted this wonderful party and had every intention of having a collaboration of indoor and outdoor activities. I think the storm had different plans. We however agreed that it was much better having everyone inside to visit with one another.

We so much enjoyed catching up with our siblings, aunts and uncles, cousins and Grandma C., the guest of honor!

Aaron and I then drove up to see my family. We got to go to the Aquarium, a Braves game (thanks Mom-Mom for watching the kids!) and on another day made it in time to eat lunch with my sister. Avery was so excited to be eating lunch in a cafeteria! We then got to visit my sister's class room, and go outside. The children thoroughly enjoyed playing with our kids on the playground.

Dad daring enough, let Aaron drive his vintage convertible car to the lake where Mom and I met up with them and had a lovely 'camp style' dinner! Dad again daring enough let MOM drive me home in the VINTAGE convertible, where I will have to tell you the seat belts were also VINTAGE, and the gears were "double jointed" whatever that means. I'll tell you what that means, it translates into two women in a VINTAGE convertible with VINTAGE seat belts, a at times bumpy ride, not being able to shift into gear on a hill, and a certain someone drivings car DOOR flying OPEN! Mom I am sorry I had to tell! Don't let Dad read this! (wink, wink) We had a lot of fun that night!!!

We love you all and thanks SO much for letting us have a virtually free vacation! :)

Daddy and me!

Aaron and Avery had a sweet little "Daddy and me" date a couple nights ago! They made popcorn, ate dinner in the mall and went to see the movie 'Kung fu Panda'. Aaron said that Avery intentionally laughed harder than the rest of the viewers, which added to his own excitement of being a clown! Avery proudly pulled out his ticket stub to show me when they walked into the door and told me it was "48 bucks"! (seems everything is 48 bucks these days). They had SO much fun!

The Aquarium

While we were visiting my family, we took a trip to the Aquarium. Avery had lots of fun chasing sea lions, antagonizing little crocs, and climbing up practically anything he could get a foot hold on. (they even had signs not to climb on the displays, I guess he didn't bother to read them) :)

Savannah enthusiastically chased the penguins back and forth and enjoyed many of the tanks between fits of fussing. They both snapped out of it when we had a bite of lunch and found a terrific park.

Aaron and I thought it was odd that one of the sign rules was "adults must be accompanied by children" We think we know why though.

Avery snapped this shot of Daddy. He has quite an eye for space and interest in a photograph! ;)

The Most Wonderful Day

After arriving at our quaint, peaceful beach today, we immediately agreed this was the best day we have had in our home town yet! My thoughts wandered from the busyness of our family to the serenity experienced on the sand. I breathed in the calmness and let myself relax. The kind of empty clearness you feel when you afford a moment of uncluttered time for your family. I felt as if I were in a painting with the multi-colored umbrellas and the children running carefree along the dunes. What a beautiful day indeed!
