Thanksgiving Weekend

So this is how we started out Thanksgiving weekend, with this beautiful sunset Wednesday night!

Avery buttering his own roll! WOW! That's a lot of butter!

Savannah woke up just in time to get a family picture taken!

Serving up the homemade pumpkin pie, with homemade whipped cream! YUMMY!

Savannah and her Aunt Allison!

Switching gears now, we turn to Uncle Jon's birthday, ON Thanksgiving. (a lot of the Frost family is born around holidays!)

Relaxing and enjoying a book with Papa

We decorated Christmas ornaments after Uncle Jon's birthday.

We glued buttons to Popsicle sticks shaped like Astrix, and swirled paint in clear glass balls. It was a lot of fun watching what the ornaments would turn out like. My Niece Eden put almost every color in one. We thought it would swirl into a mud colored ball, instead it turned out to be our favorite!

We went golfing the next day, thanks to Grandma for watching the children. I got to play golf for the first time in 4 years! I stunk it up the first 3-4 holes, thankfully I got my rhythm soon after!

All of us learned a few things from Aaron that day. Papa learned he should just stick with his irons.

First Fishing Trip!

Avery's first Fishing trip with Daddy and Mister Jonathan! Avery was so excited, whenever a fish was caught he would say "YES SIR, YES SIR"!!

Miss Erin joined the fishing fun and caught a lizard fish. GROSS!

As the fish were getting thrown back into the water, Avery told them to "have a good weekend"!

Sweet Treats

I am making these for Savannah, for Christmas. I plan to make cake rolls, possibly some sandwich cookies, and I am also in the process of painting a 'tea' table for her. LOTS of crafting before Christmas. That is all we are getting her though, and might I say it is very cheap!

Restful Sunday

Sunday is such a wonderful gift from God to depart from our usual and rest! We have struggled with Sundays in the past, and we have come to a point in our lives where we literally take the Lord's day as RESTFUL. Mowing, gardening, any laborous work is put off, granted sometimes with a reluctant heart, but never the less we have come to rest on Sundays. In my working hands I feel a stirring to 'get going on something', but when I withhold my selfish desire until Monday. I am almost so eager to work that I am joyful in my work and projects! Praise God for his Holy plan for his people!

"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath or rest, holy to the Lord." Exodus 31:15a NIV

Thirsty Thursdays

"Consider what God has done; Who can straighten what he has made crooked? When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future. In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these; a righteous man perishing in his righteousness, and a wicked man living long in his wickedness. Do not be over righteous, neither be over wise- why destroy yourself? Do not be over wicked, and do not be a fool- why die before your time? It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will avoid all extremes. Wisdom makes one wise man more powerful than ten rulers in a city. There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins." Ecclesiastes 7:13-20 NIV

Thirsty Thursdays

"For every beast of the forest is Mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird of the mountains, and everything that moves in the field is Mine. If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and all it contains. Shall I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of male goats? Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High; Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me." Psalm 50:10-15

I really needed this verse today!

"Fruitful Friday!"

Ask your husband to tell you one thing that he would want when he gets home from work. That for my husband is a hot cup of coffee. For another husband it may be closer to dinner time and he would like to come home to dinner on the table.

A good friend of mine and I were talking about the need to serve our families and the "old fashion" way of running your household. In God's Word, He gives you Proverbs 31:10-31. I know most of you are very familiar with these verses and I have been challenged and excited to bring my family back to that way of doing things. Don't worry if someone thinks that you are being old fashion, you are not in THIS modern day way of doing things. My husband was hesitant to even suggest something when I asked him this question, but I believe that is serving my husband, that is a way to respect my husband, to have him as my head. I joyfully make him coffee, have the house picked up when he comes home, (most of the time ;) ) and try and have the children at the door to greet him. I want our home to be peaceful, and a wonderful place to rejuvenate before the next morning of work.

"An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels." Proverbs 31:10 NASB.

Now that is exciting and what a goal to strive for!

A Brilliant Idea!

So... I am really digging using my blog as encouragment, good laughs (ie. "spider-man" and funny goggle girl), and I know that I am not publishing this as a scrapbook. I am however VERY interested in exciting my friends and family who may read this, about the Word of God and the honor it is to be a woman of God!! I love these words that go with the certain day of the week, so Fridays I am naming "Fruitful Fridays!" I love it!! I want to put a recipe out there, a verse that encourages you over the weekend to serve your family, a craft (yeah-ya crafts!) or any stirring things that God is showing me at this time in my life. I am so thrilled to have an outlet to plug into, to reach my intimate group of friends who read my blog!

Thirsty Thursdays (late)

"She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and bless her; Her husband also, and he praises her, saying: Many daughters have done nobly, but you excel them all. Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised, give her the product of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates." Proverbs 31:27-31 NASB

Sillyness

Avery loves being Spider-man, I found him putting his figurines up on the edge of his bed and couldn't resist molding this particular one into different moves and asking Avery "what does he look like now?"

Thirsty Thursdays

So I have been following many bloggers that have fun little things they post on a particular day and I wanted a reason to share some of my favorite scriptures. So every Thursday will now be 'Thirsty Thursday'. :)

"For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life? And why ware you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:25-34 NASB

Asking for your prayers

SO.... to be blunt, I fail at and quit on almost every commitment that I make around my house. My husband is growing weary of my inconsistencies. I can't manage to make dinners for my family for more than 3 times a week and if I am honest, it is twice, AT the MOST. Now keeping a tidy house is manageable, but regrettably waking at a prompt hour has not been easy. Without proper sleep I can not train my children, serve them, or stay on a routine. Most mornings I am woken up with a sweet voice asking for shake-shake milk. Now shouldn't I be waking him and shouldn't I have already had it on the counter!! Many more inconsistencies but you get the point. :)

So in saying all this, tonight I made up a check list for myself in an attempt to become more reliable and structured throughout my day. (thinking of you Lean Bean and Brae, Love you always and thank you!)

I covet your prayers during this changing season, but I ask if you would, please pray for me and that being reliable and consistent become common to me. I seem to flake out a lot and I am prayerfully attempting to become a good steward with the affairs of my household and humbly accept any suggestions and encouragement my friends and family might have. :) Love, Heather

SERIOUSLY!

painting fall decorations

The kids were painting fall leaves for the windows, and it turned into painting with almost their whole body. By the time we were done Savannah and Avery had a painted belly. Avery saw that Savannah had attempted to use her foot, and I caught him just in time before his attempt. Needless to say they went straight to the bath.

after the children were done painting, I took and cut out the barley visible lines of the leaves and hung them on the windows.

Camping Trip!

Our new family show is "Man VS Wild" It is a survival type show, with a man that does some INCREDIBLE survival techniques. Anyway, Avery found this grub in a log and wanted to eat it because that is what the "forest" guy does! He wouldn't put this grub down until finally we MADE him throw it in the bushes. He truely wanted to eat it!

Beautiful Savannah smiling for the camera!

This was a picture of the beach that was on the edge of our campsite.

Uncle Jon came with us, and he, Aaron and Avery slept in the tent closest to the truck, while the girls tent was named the "Princess" tent because of my blow up mattress and Savannah's pack n play. (her and I really did the luxury camping thing)

I found her just picken and playing with the tent cords. CUTE!

This was the edge of our campsite, beautiful beach and some "climbing" rocks.

Savannah smearing some sea foam on her face like a mustache (much like we do in the bath, but with different bubbles) :)
Avery was trying to find some hermit crabs.

This was at our friends campsite. They had it set up AMAZINGLY, with a kiddy pool, hammock and kayaks.

We went on an Alligator hike. We were literally hiking through marsh like areas and had to hold the children's hands because of the natural habitat we were in.

ALLIGATOR!

Uncle Jonathan being silly!
