First Fishing Trip!

Avery's first Fishing trip with Daddy and Mister Jonathan! Avery was so excited, whenever a fish was caught he would say "YES SIR, YES SIR"!!

Miss Erin joined the fishing fun and caught a lizard fish. GROSS!

As the fish were getting thrown back into the water, Avery told them to "have a good weekend"!

Sweet Treats

I am making these for Savannah, for Christmas. I plan to make cake rolls, possibly some sandwich cookies, and I am also in the process of painting a 'tea' table for her. LOTS of crafting before Christmas. That is all we are getting her though, and might I say it is very cheap!

Restful Sunday

Sunday is such a wonderful gift from God to depart from our usual and rest! We have struggled with Sundays in the past, and we have come to a point in our lives where we literally take the Lord's day as RESTFUL. Mowing, gardening, any laborous work is put off, granted sometimes with a reluctant heart, but never the less we have come to rest on Sundays. In my working hands I feel a stirring to 'get going on something', but when I withhold my selfish desire until Monday. I am almost so eager to work that I am joyful in my work and projects! Praise God for his Holy plan for his people!

"For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath or rest, holy to the Lord." Exodus 31:15a NIV

Thirsty Thursdays

"Consider what God has done; Who can straighten what he has made crooked? When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discover anything about his future. In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these; a righteous man perishing in his righteousness, and a wicked man living long in his wickedness. Do not be over righteous, neither be over wise- why destroy yourself? Do not be over wicked, and do not be a fool- why die before your time? It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will avoid all extremes. Wisdom makes one wise man more powerful than ten rulers in a city. There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins." Ecclesiastes 7:13-20 NIV

Thirsty Thursdays

"For every beast of the forest is Mine, the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird of the mountains, and everything that moves in the field is Mine. If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and all it contains. Shall I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of male goats? Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High; Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me." Psalm 50:10-15

I really needed this verse today!

"Fruitful Friday!"

Ask your husband to tell you one thing that he would want when he gets home from work. That for my husband is a hot cup of coffee. For another husband it may be closer to dinner time and he would like to come home to dinner on the table.

A good friend of mine and I were talking about the need to serve our families and the "old fashion" way of running your household. In God's Word, He gives you Proverbs 31:10-31. I know most of you are very familiar with these verses and I have been challenged and excited to bring my family back to that way of doing things. Don't worry if someone thinks that you are being old fashion, you are not in THIS modern day way of doing things. My husband was hesitant to even suggest something when I asked him this question, but I believe that is serving my husband, that is a way to respect my husband, to have him as my head. I joyfully make him coffee, have the house picked up when he comes home, (most of the time ;) ) and try and have the children at the door to greet him. I want our home to be peaceful, and a wonderful place to rejuvenate before the next morning of work.

"An excellent wife, who can find? For her worth is far above jewels." Proverbs 31:10 NASB.

Now that is exciting and what a goal to strive for!

A Brilliant Idea!

So... I am really digging using my blog as encouragment, good laughs (ie. "spider-man" and funny goggle girl), and I know that I am not publishing this as a scrapbook. I am however VERY interested in exciting my friends and family who may read this, about the Word of God and the honor it is to be a woman of God!! I love these words that go with the certain day of the week, so Fridays I am naming "Fruitful Fridays!" I love it!! I want to put a recipe out there, a verse that encourages you over the weekend to serve your family, a craft (yeah-ya crafts!) or any stirring things that God is showing me at this time in my life. I am so thrilled to have an outlet to plug into, to reach my intimate group of friends who read my blog!
